Priceville Baptist Church to Partner with Lifeline Children's Services
"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27, NKJV) Friends, some mission fields are an ocean away. Others are right outside our back door. Priceville Baptist Church will soon partner with Lifeline Children's Services to help meet the needs of foster children and their families here in Lee County, Mississippi. This partnership is part of our new "back door" missions focus: serving the neighbors God has placed closest to us. The start date and details will be announced soon. Who Is Lifeline?…… Lifeline Children's Services is a Christ-centered ministry that has served vulnerable children and families since 1981. Its mission is to equip the body of Christ to manifest the gospel to vulnerable children. Lifeline has never relied on government funding. It works hand in hand with local churches and private donors. Lifeline believes God designed the family as a place of safety and healing. So its foster care ministries do more than care for children. They help churches stand beside foster families, walk with parents working to bring their children home, and mentor teens who age out of foster care with no family behind them. Lifeline serves churches in all 50 states and has a Mississippi office in Jackson. Before our partnership begins, a Lifeline representative here in Lee County will train us. We want to step in prepared, not just willing.
So What Can We Do Right Now?……
Pray. Before we plan a single event or ask for a single volunteer, we are asking our church family to pray every week for:
• Wisdom for our church leaders and the members who will lead this work.
• Direction, that God would show us exactly where PBC can serve best.
• Resources: the people, time, and funds this partnership will need.
• The children and families of Lee County, for safety, healing, and the hope of Christ.
Now, we are a small congregation, and we say that plainly. But small has never been a problem for God. A few faithful people who love children well can change the whole story of a child's life. Watch the bulletin and this page for more details as the partnership takes shape. The mission field starts at our back door!
In His Love, Pastor Chris
